Most boilers only need 180F water at lowest outside weather temperature, typically around 0 F degree. In warmer weather an ODR lowers boiler to 140F minimum to prevent condensation. Aug 10, 2020 · The problem is that the boiler is producing too much heat for the amount of water flowing through it. Hence the temperature of the water leaving the boiler is above the set level. The boiler cannot modulate ( reduce ) its heat output any lower so it has to shut down to prevent the water being too hot ( higher than the set maximum ).

For starters, when the outside is 0C the average internal temperature in my house is 9C without heating; so I'm looking for the boiler to provide an extra 12C change in temperature.
